This experiential learning interim connects students with Spartanburg through service-learning opportunities where students will engage with organizations, residents, and leaders from the community. Throughout the month, students will meet community leaders and learn about existing organizations through site visits and guest speakers. Across these experiences, students in this course will discuss concepts and practices associated with grassroots leadership, and apply different methods to their own community-based work. Students will develop their own skill set in grassroots leadership. The goal is for students in this Interim to remain engaged in service-learning work beyond this course.
